The word hypnosis derives from Greek mythology. God “Hypnos” was famous for his ability to induce sleep. However, hypnosis is not a state of sleep, but is a natural, trans-like state of mind that produces extraordinary levels of relaxation and focus. The conscious mind is a reasoning mind. Consciousness is a sense of one's personal and/or collective identity, beliefs, and sensitivities. In simple words, it is a behavioral norm and rule that we ought to follow in order to fit into society.
